My Closing remark ( Hackett election )
Bad News:

- Hackett lost by around 4,000 out of a total tally of about 110,000; that is within 4% as some repub polls had rumoured.

Good News:

- If we came this close in Ohio 2nd, the state is primed for turning deep blue at the next crossroads.

Great News:

- The nation thanks, RoseBud57, LizzieForKerry and 100s if not 1,000s of other volunteers that worked the boots-on-ground part.

- We learnt a valuable lesson on how to fundraise, organize and give the GOP a run for their money. Hard to day what would have happened had the fundraising been more equitable.

- We worked together and showed what we could achieve...

Good night !

1. Great work. Hackett should run for US Senate against DeWine
Screw it. If he can do this well in a district that Bush won by 70% plus 9 months ago, he's our guy for Senate.

GREAT WORK & THANK YOU

6. He'll ask them why they spend so damn much time thinking abou homosexuals?
He was pro on this issue in the most conservative part of Ohio and it was not a major factor, it seems. He'll kick ass in the rest of the state.

Republicans need to think about things like wars they started, devicits they created, ect. Then they can resort to their sexual fantasies.

11. They've already used that
F-them. They got their bogus ballot initiative passed last November and even Senators DeWine and Voinovich and Taft came out against it. They've milked the issue. Besides a plain outspoken person like Hackett can put them in their place and stop the hate propaganda and scapegoating against homosexuals. Let them try to use it again as a wedge issue - it will just show that its all they've got.

btw - imho - Blackwell will try to use it in his Governor bid. I doubt very much DeWine would use it.

4. It stings, but I'm energized.
We came closer in this CD than we ever did with Kerry.

I worked my finger to the bone. Congressional elections are more fun, somehow. Tighter-knit, somehow. Not so many nationally-dispatched wankers in the way, I suppose.

I think Paul will head back to Iraq as he's pledged, but if he's back in time for a run at statewide office in '06, I really think we should put him out there. He's a natural, a star, and most importantly, one of us.

That's why he got so close.

Hackett for Governor. Hackett for Senate!!!

5. Congratulations to all of you!
You folks who worked so hard on this campaign did a great job! You have a lot to be proud of. You may not have won the election as you had hoped, but you won in many other ways. The results made it very plain that it's okay to express Liberal/Progressive values. They are more widely accepted and embraced than a lot of Dems seem to believe. After all, they're American values, aren't they?
You "guys" did good. Thanks.

8. Voting would have helped
I believe if people would have voted, Hackett would be in. NO ONE in my office could be bothered to vote. After being reminded 3 times they just didn't get around to it. I even offered to let any one who wanted to vote leave early. These are not uneducated or slow people. They just didn't vote. Makes a grown woman want to cry. Oh and every one of them was a democrat.

10. Hi Pdittie
I hope you all are well. Maybe in 2006 we can do a better job getting dems elected and especially at my office. I was heartbroken.

12. Well, don't be
He had an awfully hard row to hew, and he almost got it done (he came a lot closer than my friend Richard Morrison did in knocking off DeLay last November).

Maybe you ought to just beat all those people in your office...

Looking forward to being there and seeing you and yours next week!
