Well, I guess this is the last time we'll see Scioto County in the blue column.

No more punch cards for voters

Voters who came out for last week’s special election likely got Scioto County’s final taste of a relic — the punch card ballot.

New machines were delivered to the Scioto County Board of Elections on Tuesday, and the electronic voting machines should be implemented in time for November’s election, said Steve Mowery, the chairman of the Scioto County Board of Elections.

“We’re getting everything in here, and then it is going to get busy for the next few months,” Mowery said. “This is going to make the punch cards obsolete.”
Crews unloaded 90 optical scanners, 60 touchscreen voting stations (TSX) and 90 new ballot boxes, which will be distributed throughout the county, said board of elections equipment manager Sam Sink.

3. optisan ballots with precinct level readers are better than most other
systems.

Brown County tabulated at the precinct level, Clermont did not.

4. At least in Ohio there has to be...
a paper trail. If someone thinks there is fraud they can count the original ballots and compare them with the electronic count. This is about the only thing that has been done right in Ohio.
