OhioHB3 Action! Election Reform Activist Asssistance needed
Just got this ion an email, posting it:

Hi all Ohio Election Reform Activists, Please distribute this email widely to all your lists!

"Intended or not,the result of this bill is voter supression , period"
~Peg Rosenfeld, Ohio League of Women Voters, Election Specialist on HB3

I have been hired to conduct a mini campaign to educate constituents in Sen. Bob Spadas District; Ohio SD24 { most of the southern ring around Cleveland southern Cuyahoga County} on our percieved shortcomings of, and shortsightedness of his "Ohio Election Reform "HB3.

If you would like to help, and are a constituent please call me ASAP and join us to help educate Ohioans about HB3 and lobby Sen Spada to kill certain provisions of the bill before it is voted upon in the Ohio Senate! Historically , Ohio only deals with Election Reform legislation once every 10 years! Let's not wait that long for the much necessary true reform in Ohio!

Here are our talking points re: OHHB3 set to be introduced in The Senate NEXT WEEK!It passed the Ohio House last Spring, and due in part to our grassroots efforts, was tabled before being introduced in the Senate. The time to Act is now if the following concerns you!
Your vote won't count if you aren't in the right precinct- remember all those directed to the wrong table in the right room ?
Registering voters would require that the registrar be registered in every county they register voters in{ Imagine going to the State Fair ! }
Bill does nothing to fix:
Enforcement of Current Ohio State Election law,long lines,training poll workers,correcting ballot errors,ensuring a transparent count of the votes,make public agencies follow federal law to register voters, or to create the HAVA mandated uniform statewide systems,or forbid partisan oversight of election proceedings.

There is talk that while in the Senate,new provisions of Mandatory Photo ID will be added as well as a provision that ex felons in Ohio must return to the county that they were incarcerated in to petition to get their vote back. In Ohio over 333,000 eligible voters over 18 currently are NOT registered with the Dept. of Motor Vehicles, or have a State ID! Lets Keep these new provisions OUT!

In Ohio, as you know, we need REAL election reform to restore all voters confidence and integrity and transparency to our system. HB3 falls WAY short of that !

You can take action today by calling the Ohio Senate Switchboard at :
1-800-282-0253 - tell your senator how you feel about HB3, if you don't know who your State Senator is, the operator will tell you , but you must know your 4-digit zip code extension for them to direct you!

If you are a constituent of Sen Bob Spada, please contact me to participate in a constituent meeting {s}that will be centrally located in your district or to have me come out personally and discuss further with your group or organization the above concerns about the current bill.

I am awaiting scheduling confirmation from his office as to when he will meet with all interested voters in his district, and will send out meeting logistics ASAP to all who reply to me as interested in becoming citizen lobbyists!

Yours in True Democracy for Ohio!
