COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) —

...Bush's approval rating in the Columbus area sank to 41 percent, down 20 points from just after the United States invaded Iraq in 2003. Support for his handling of the Iraq war dropped 30 points to 37 percent in that time...

Approval of Bush's actions after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks fell to 50 percent, marking the first time the president has not had majority support on his response.

Optimism that those responsible for the attacks would be caught fell from 95 percent who thought it likely in September 2001 to 53 percent who think so now...

Saperstein said Bush's response to Hurricane Katrina's devastation did not affect the poll, which was conducted before criticism of the president's actions grew heated.

1. Day late and a dollar short;
These wonderful "Christians" were the fools that put him into office and would block his impeachment.

3. Hallelujah! They seen the light!
Look-

If Bush is going to estrange them from the Republican party, we should welcome them with open arms and remind them of the story of the Prodigal Son. Just because we conservative Christians haven't been terribly wise in our voting choices doesn't mean that we liberals can't be charitable in welcoming them to the good side. After all, we need their votes, right?

We are most likely going to be moving to rural Indiana or Ohio next summer. Leading up to the 2008 campaign, I am planning on starting a discussion series aimed at evangelical Christians in my region (not quite "Who would Jesus vote for" but you get the idea) - but if I convince them to come over & they're hit in the face with...oh...lesse...

We might lose a few of them, and their votes too.

(and no I am not complaining about this particular advertiser, just pointing out a potential issue)

5. Really good point and good idea
I don't have the means to open binary images but I've seen enough to imagine what it is.

That is GREAT project.Let me know how it goes.

Had we been able to sway 118,000 of those voters in Ohio, the Shrub would have lost.

We don't even have to convert 'em. Just get them to realize that the corrupt, power mad GOP is NOT representing their interests in any way shape or form!

Ohio evangelicals got suckered into coming to the polls to support the "Hate Amendment" but that's a trick that can't be repeated.

And there is no way that the GOP can play the 'patriotism card" to silence criticism of Coingate or KatrinaGate.

6. You would be welcome in my East Central area
I live on the edge of a very conservative area filled with Amish and Mennonites. They follow a peaceful agenda but supported the false promises of Bush in the last election.

7. Gosh, I could talk straight to them...
I know their doctrine well.

I'm terribly upset that Ohio Amish were tricked into voting for Bush, that's actually where I went from thinking of him as "the li'l bit more of two evils" to just plain "evil".

That and he told a group of Old Order Amish “I trust God speaks through me. Without that, I couldn’t do my job." God must now choose to be reticent, Mr. Bush.

You know, I have a magician who wants to start working with Amish audiences (because they don't have TV viewer attention spans). I bet he's not a freep. Maybe we can go on the road together - if the Amish will dialogue with a woman.
