Basketball: Showdown of stars in Big 12 women's spotlight
I've really enjoyed the women's basketball team this year. The Paris twins are amazing.

DALLAS — When Baylor and Oklahoma met last month, post powers Sophia Young and Courtney Paris squared off in an everything-you-can-do-I-can-do-better duel for the ages.
Young scored a career-high 36 points to go along with 14 rebounds, and Paris tallied 31 points and 19 rebounds to lead OU to an overtime victory.
Now with the two teams in town for the Big 12 tournament at Reunion Arena, Paris and Young have been eyeing one another from afar, setting the stage for another one-on-one slugfest in tonight's championship final.

On Wednesday, as the top-seeded Sooners squeaked away with 78-74 quarterfinal victory over Iowa State, Paris scored 36 points, a career and tournament high.

"She's just a great player," Young said of Paris. "She uses her body well and knows how to score. (For a freshman) she has come in and dominated the post."

Yet, Young hasn't let her esteem for Paris interfere with her own ability to dazzle and daze.
Just hours after Paris' career performance, Young poured in 35 to lead the Lady Bears to an overtime victory against Kansas State. Young and Paris rarely match up against one another on the defensive end, but their individual offensive displays provide a scintillating showcase that pairs with the growing rivalry between No. 8 OU and No. 10 Baylor.

1. I LOVE OU women's b-ball ...

I've followed their season much closer than the men's team.

Good game so far. Go Sooners.

About the only thing Oklahoma women’s basketball coach Sherri Coale had to be upset about Monday was Stacey Dales-Schuman.

It’s not like there’s any bad blood between the coach and her former All-American point guard turned ESPN analyst, but Dales did make the point that OU would be at an athletic disadvantage if the Nos. 1 and 2 seeds end up meeting in the San Antonio Regional final.

“Dales,” Coale said to the television, “where did you get your diploma from?”

Other than that it was a heck of a day for the Sooner women and their coach.
