Poll question: Any Tulsans out there? Who's the next Mayor?
Who do you think the next Mayor will be?

(I'm just listing the two obvious ones here, as it seems pretty clear that the other two don't stand much of a chance.)

1. Taylor in a landslide
Lots and lots of old-line Republicans are voting ( and working) for her. For example Dewey Bartlett's daughter. So she will get 25% of the Republican vote and most all the Democrats.
My husband loves her. He worked on a remodel in her home. He said she was very nice and she was respectful of the labor guys and didn't talk down to them or treat them like dirt like a lot of rich people do.

Get this. My husband just came home just now and told me that a friend said at her work they were gathered together and told " Vote for LaFortune or you will lose your job!!" Guess what company...
Big Brothers and Sisters. THat's got to be against the law.

2. OK it wasn't a landslide but it's pretty damn good
considering his family name and the Republican majority here! I'm happy

3. Whoa... Wait a sec...
Lose your job as in, "You'll be fired," or lose your job as in Taylor will screw things up so badly, and who said that at your husband's job? I've bowled for kids' sake numerous times and twisted balloons for one of their functions, and if they meant the former, I'm going to be very upset.

4. They were told they would lose their jobs
Edited on Wed Apr-05-06 06:26 AM by OKNancy
They were gathered around and given a "talk". This is not at my husband's work.
It might be something to look into, but this is third hand. He was told this, he didn't witness it himself.

Edit: a 60-ish woman was the "talker" She started spouting things she heard from right wing radio ( voter fraud, property taxes...all that stuff that was slimed in the Dem primary)

5. Tulsans did a good thing yesterday.
Now let's hope Kathy sticks with her campaign promises, and doesn't give the right wingers a chance to pick her to pieces.

That pompous little asshole f*ck Michael DelGiornio was already going after her this morning, challenging Kathy to appear on his right wing radio show, and spouting that she was already backing off her promise to put 200 more police officers on the street.

And she isn't even officially Mayor until Monday!
