I sent this email to the editors of the Constiution and about 20 known liberals in Lawton, plus several advertisers. I don't care if they publish it or not. I hope those on the CC line pile and reply plue they circulate it around to put enough pressure on the paper to drop the column.

Dear Editors,
Remember me? I am one of the of the members of the informed electorate in Lawton who wrote to your paper a number of times – four to be exact, about Ann Coulter’s hate speech and lack of decency. If you haven’t heard, she called a presidential candidate a “faggot” at last week’s Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). This act was the final straw for several newspapers in the country. The newspapers that have dropped her column include:
The Oakland Press of Michigan The Mountain Press of Sevierville , Tennessee The New Era, Lancaster , Pennsylvania The American Press, Lake Charles , Louisiana The Times, Shreveport , Louisiana The Sanford Herald, North Carolina Daily Chronicle, DeKalb , Illinois
As you recall, I wrote last year specifically about her editorial which called on skinheads to attack a Muslim student at Yale. I guess her fascist remarks were okay for the Lawton Constitution. You continued to publish her column. Even after The National Review, USA Today, MSNBC, and the Arizona Daily Star dropped her column over the last few years for Coulter’s wishing that Timothy McVeigh blew up the New York Times building, insulting a Vietnam veteran, referring to the Democratic party as the party of Satan, and wishing that the United States would force the Middle East to convert to Christianity or die. You, The Lawton Constitution, continued to publish her column. The Constitution is the paper of record for a town where many Vietnam veterans live. The paper is also in the same state as the Oklahoma City bombing. Yet, you still continued to publish her column.
Now that Lawton is the home of Miss America, going to be on “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”, and the home of a boxer on a national reality show, plus the home of many football players who go on to play at major universities, don’t you think it is time to step forward and drop Ann Coulter’s column?
What say you Lawton Constitution?
To the advertisers:
Don’t you have any shame in sponsoring a newspaper who publishes a pundit who says things so horrible that if they were spoken in your workplace, they would be grounds for termination?
To my progressive friends: Please reply to all in the email and let the Constitution know how you feel about Ann Coulter.
