Oklahoman one of 18 reported killed in Iraq

Staff Sgt. Erickson H. Petty, 28, of Fort Gibson was killed by small-arms fire Monday while providing security at a weapons cache in Salman Al Habb, Iraq, the Department of Defense said.

Petty was assigned to Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 35th Armor Regiment, 1st Armored Division at Smith Barracks in Baumholder, Germany, his tour had been extended.

Petty was married and had a 9-year-old son.
He would have turned 29 on Tuesday.

when they reported this last night on the news in Tulsa(can't remember which channel it was, they all sound alike), they reported this as the latest death in the war on terror.

That's the part that drives me NUTS!!!!!

As a side note, I think Chera Kimiko is SOOOOOOOOO good looking. It's not enough to get me to watch FOX 23 though. I think it's that mixture of Japanese and American that does it for me.

A 19-year old Tulsa soldier was killed in combat Wednesday. I believe his name was Spc. James E. Marshall.
