New full-time positions available in south Tulsa.
Edited on Mon Sep-13-10 11:13 AM by hippywife
All of our students have gone back to school so we need full-time employees for our dining services. This is in a retirement community for residents who are in assisted living or independed living.

This is not nursing home work so there is no feeding or the like required. The job is really very easy: just getting the dining room set up and torn down for meals, assisting residents in carrying their plates, getting things for those who have a little trouble walking very much, some dishwashing but not a lot. Most of the residents are able to do much for themselves, so most of the position is like normal restaurant work except you make a difference in the lives of our senior population.

May also have a position available in the kitchen from 11 a.m. to 7:30 washing pots, delivering room trays, and assisting the nursing staff in the nursing home dining room. Again there is no feeding or the like required in the nursing home dining room, just setting up and tearing down for meals and some dishwashing.

There are two or three positions available. Hours are 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Some weekends required, so need to be flexible on days. There are benefits available within a short time of employment and time off with pay as you accrue hours. Quarterly pay bonuses for excellent attendance.

Applicants need to be responsible and committed to being here for the residents and each other.

I've been here going on eight years and it really is a great place to work.

If you would like information on how to apply, please PM me.

1. what is the name of the facilty?
I just came out of working for an assisted living place in Illinois. It just about killed me. It didn't offer any benefits, not health insurance, not paid holidays, nothing. (I didn't know that when I accepted the position.) I was the Activities manager but spent most of my time waiting tables, making beds and any other crappy job the owner decided the short staffed facility needed done. (The person who replaced me actually had a heart attack after she took the job as her stress was so high!) I loved the residents but was so glad to find someone else after I was there five months. I am good at Activities but I am scared off of working for another facility after this experience. I am hoping they are not all the same.
