5. One can dream...

He's not up for reelection until 2008. His recent stupidity will be long forgotten by anyone but Democrats who wouldn't have voted for him anyway.

And I'm not real sure the garbage that spews from his mouth really hurts him among Republicans and others who tend to vote Republican. As much as I hate to admit it, his most recent comments played pretty well to his base in OK.

4. I have...
...for all the good it will do.

Inhofe is one of the least responsive Senators in my memory. Even Don Nickles, who is thankfully retiring leaving open the door for a Democratic Senator, at least pretended to listen. Inhofe makes no pretense of his disdain for views alternative to his. The most I've likely done by calling his office is getting my name on a campaign fundraiser list.

I've never been treated so rudely by a politician's staff members.

9. We did better...

the Tulsa County Democratic Party and The Progressive Alliance PAC submitted 2500 signatures to his Tulsa office saying he does not speak for us. Tulsa County Dem Party Chairwoman, Elaine Dodd, also held a press conference Friday before delivering the petition signatures.

Current signature count is up to 3200 as of last night and signatures are still being collected. Go here to read and sign:

3. I know a few...
I don't know many, but a few. These are mostly the people that could be called "Republicrats." They'll vote for very conservative Democrats in local elections, but tend to vote for Republicans in national races.

As for talk of dissatisfaction with this administration, such talk is coming from predictable sources, i.e. Democrats. There is plenty of talk of dissatisfaction with this administration's policies, but from my observations, a disconnect remains between those policies and their source. It is willful ignorance at work.

For example, one of my cousins recently lost her very high-paying accounting job. She's receiving unemployment benefits while she searches for another job, but she's coming close to the end of her benefit period. This irritates her, and she is openly complaining about it. Yet, when I've tried to talk to her about the Republican policies that have resulted in a limitation in her benefits and the difficulty she is having finding a job, not to mention the reason her job was eliminated in the first place, she quite simply tunes me out.

She voted for Bush and will be doing so again.

7. Yes...

Now that I think about it, some of those I do know who voted for Bush once and won't be again are veterans.

My ex-wife, who lives in Lawton where Fort Sill is located, says there seems to be a growing anti-Bush sentiment there.

10. Band of Brothers for Kerry
You bet Veterans will be voting for Kerry. For the first time in Oklahoma history, Vets from several wars have banded together to form a strong, very strong nation wide movement.

We have passed out over 700 bumper stickers "Veteran for Kerry". Rusty was pining "Veteran for Kerry" pins on Vets at the Carl Albert Dinner. He put over 50 pins on Vets who proudly had them on as they left that night.

The bandofbrothersforkerry.com site will be up later this week.

Get ready. Vets have the chance of a lifetime to put a combat Veteran in the White House.
