Special Showing of Fahrenheit 9/11 in Tulsa

Tulsa Gets VIP Showing of Fahrenheit 911

The Progressive Alliance Political Action Committee (PALPAC), is proud to announce that they will be hosting a special VIP Showing of the new Michael Moore film Fahrenheit 911 on Saturday morning. Moore's film recently won "Best Film" at The Cannes Film festival. The overwhelming interest shown for the showing of this film in Oklahoma City prompted PALPAC to offer a Tulsa showing.

Proceeds from this event will benefit the Progressive Alliance PAC, and support an advertising campaign that will run shortly before the November election to prevent George Bush's re-election.

The Oklahoma City showing sold out within hours of notice going out, and we expect the same reaction from the Tulsa Community. This special VIP showing will be closed to the general public, and only available to ticket holders on Saturday morning June 26th at 10:00 AM at AMC Crossroads Theatre, 4923 E. 41st Street (41st and Yale). Tickets will be $25.00 and larger sponsorships are also available. Our theatre seats only 260 people and we expect to sell out within hours of this announcement. Make your reservations now.

To see a trailer of the film you can visit http://www.fahrenheit911.com.

To make your reservations, call the Progressive Alliance at 405/488-1464. Tickets can be paid by credit card, cash, or check.

3. I am thrilled
there are so many places to see it in Tulsa. I almost can't believe it. We will be seeing it at the Cinemark on 71st/HWY 169. When I called to make sure they would be showing it still, they guy said people were calling from Joplin to see if it was playing....

4. Money to families of Veterans went where?
Edited on Wed Jul-21-04 10:01 AM by yelladawg
The Red River Political Action Committee told Veterans that half of the proceeds would go to the families of Veterans. Know these people have reniged on their word and NO MONEY will be sent to families of Veterans.

They used Veterans to raise money for themselves. This same group has supported Monte Johnson with volunteers and mailing lists. Monte Johnson is very anti-abortion.

5. After posting here I got a reply
I just got off the phone with Andrew Rice, Director of the Red River River Project. Before he started screaming and yelling at me (telling me to fu@k off numerous times) he said that $3,000.00 had been raised for the families of Oklahoma families who had lost a family member in the Iraqi war. He said that $6,000.00 was the total raised from the F911 showing.
He said he didn’t have to announce to anyone where he was sending the money. He said he hadn’t decided on who to give the money to for disbursement to the Oklahoma families of Iraqi dead. He said he was leaning towards the Red Cross, but hadn’t made a decision.

He screamed at me for posting my questions on the Internet. He told me to fu@k off no fewer than 10 times. He said I was an asshole for posting this on the Internet. He said I should call him if I have any questions, then he screamed at me not to call him, his office, or his group ever again.

Guess I’ll just post my questions here from now on.

Rusty

6. I know Andrew and
only someone like you, Rusty, could get a response like that out of him by being so god-awful obnoxious. He's one of the nicest, most even-tempered people I know. I doubt that it even happened that way given your penchant for stretching the truth.

FYI, the money did go to the Red Cross for distribution to OK survivors of troops killed in Iraq.

7. I don't know Andrew
As far as stretching the truth, someone else was on the phone taking notes. Andrew said he was recording it. I'll bounce my view against the tape recording anytime.

The Red Cross as of 07/23 had not recieved the money raised for the families of Veterans.
