I am very disappointed with President Bush's nomination of Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court. While in college at Princeton, Alito joined a group called Concerned Alumni of Princeton (CAP). CAP's sole purpose was to oppose the admission of women and African American students. This group was open and vehement in its purpose, and used intimidation tactics to try to get women to leave the school (including publishing their personal information in a flyer that was placed under the doors of all students). 15 years after graduating, Alito boasted about his membership in this group on a job application, although he now says he has no memory of his participation. Someone with this history should not be on the Supreme Court. I urge Senator Wyden and Senator Smith to vote against his confirmation.
(For work reasons I can't submit it.)
