2. The Rogue Ale Public House in Newport has the best
Cioppino I have ever tasted.

Giuseppe's in Bend serves a very yummy seafood contadina.

I hope to spend a weekend in September in Depoe Bay, where we'll stay at the Inn at Arch Rock, eat in the bar at Gracie's Sea Hag and hope that Gracie will come out to "play the bottles."

The water in the fountain still tastes terrible, but Lithia Park is as beautiful as it was before the 97 floods:

the Shakespeare festival is having another fine run:

The Crater Comets still get no respect... (the Black Tornado got to the state championship game and lost).

Champaign brunches in Jacksonville are better than ever.

Bear Creek Greenway is now complete: http://www.bearcreekgreenway.com/

6. Our schools suck rocks, but Bandon has a world-class golf course
Per capita, Oregon has been reamed harder than any other state by the Enron mafia. Of course, Enron can still spend millions of dollars defeating ballot measures to form Public Utility Districts.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of Norquist operatives Sizemore and McIntyre, the state gov't is in the process of trimming optional niceties like the Oregon Health Plan and the State Police.

Oregon has the nation's highest rate of low birthweight babies. It also has some of the lowest corporate taxes anywhere, with a $10 minimum tax established in 1931 being paid by 2/3 of Oregon-registered corporations in 2000.

So what was it you wanted to know again?

8. Rogue Valley still pretty red(neck)
Crashcart was in town on Friday on his "Patriotic Ambulance" tour. His speech was so inspirational, the Democratic Party headquarters in Medford was vandalized that same night.

We are starting to see a lot of Kerry buttons and a few bumper stickers. My wife and I have been handing them out whenever someone asks where they can get them. Most of the requests have been from young people, a very good sign.

Letters to the editor in the Mail Tribune have been overwhelmingly anti-Bush. Jackson County could be a pleasant surprise for Kerry-Edwards in November.

10. That would be amazing
Good to hear. If we didn't have the gay marriage wackos getting out their base, I wouldn't worry about Oregon at all.
