EV Awareness Day - Saturday, July 8th.

Come on down to Pioneer Courthouse Square from 10 AM to 4 PM and have a look at what the Oregon Electric Vehicle Association has been doing. Lots of neat electric alternatives and a bunch of great folks that will be glad to answer any questions. About 20-25 electric and hybrid vehicles will be on display. Attendees at the free event will be able to view the latest advances in electric car conversions and learn about the environmental and economic benefits of driving vehicles powered by electricity instead of gasoline. 1. Did you read the LTE about ins. cos not insuring electric cars?

It was in today's Oregonian. I was tempted to call my ins. co. but forgot. Have you heard anything about it?

2. I saw that and I'm glad you reminded me, because I meant to talk

to my husband about it. We have an all electric car. It's a conversion from an old Sprint. Before that, he had a slow-speed electric Cushman. We've always been able to get insurance for them. The Cushman required us to do a lot of shopping around and we ended up having to switch insurance companies, but Farmers has insured us for about the last 5-6 years on electric vehicles, at a VERY reasonable rate.
