Hiroshima Day

August 6th and 9th mark the 61st anniversaries of the nuclear bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Each year Physicians for Social Responsibility place an ad in The Oregonian asking people to remember the occasion and to call for an end to nuclear weapons. This year they will also put an ad in The Ashland Daily Tidings. You can be included for a contribution of $35 to help cover the cost of the ads.

Also, make plans to attend the annual Hiroshima Day Commemoration on Sunday, August 6th at 6PM at the Japanese American Historical Plaza at NW Naito Pkwy and Couch St. in downtown Portland. People ask, I tell them, they look at me funny but at least they think for a minute. PSR is a good group to support.
