Novick within Six Points of Smith in New Poll, Merkley Close Behind

In exciting news for Oregon Democrats, Steve Novick is just six points behind of Gordon Smith in a new poll (see http://www.novickforsenate.com for full report) - within its margin of error. This impressive showing provides another indication of how Steve's homegrown, grassroots campaign is catching fire and connecting with voters across Oregon.

Looking at those results, Smith has "vulnerable" written all over him. Given more airtime, either Dem could probably overtake him next year. Their first big challenge will be reducing the "2/3 unfamiliar" score.

but down here on the southern coast, Gordo is not well liked. In the one and only townhall meeting he's had since I've lived here (7 years), less than a dozen people showed up.
