Greg Walden, R-2nd ...is he vulnerable this time?
I would SO love to see this stooge get tossed out on his tuchis. I don't live in the 2nd, but he's a distant relative, so I feel an involvement with helping to uproot this piece of human kudzu. (I know that's fairly mild, but I love the sound of it.)

I don't really know anything about his dem. opposition (Carol Voisin, Chuck Butcher, and Scott Silver) or if any have a realistic chance.

IMO getting rid of Walden is almost as important as getting rid of Smith, keeping Hooley's seat, and getting a dem. in the white house. (man, we've got our work cut out for us!)

Here's a couple of links if you're not tracking this one.

Anyone following the 2nd closely? Inquiring minds want to know.

1. Voisin ran against him last time
She'd be my guess to win this time too. I think Dick Wendt is a big backer of Walden. If that's the case, he'd be tough to knock out.

2. I supported Silver in the primary, and voted for Voisin in the GE last time.
I don't even know who's running this time.

I'd like to see it happen, but the 2nd district is still more red than blue.

Walden is liked and respected by the MODERATE republicans I know.

3. I wonder how that happens?

His voting record is one of the most hard-core conservative in congress on most issues.

Even moderate repubs should hate him.

I guess owning a chain of radio stations comes in handy, eh?

4. Probably.
A recent conversation with a neighbor offered this: the neighbor thinks that he "gets" local issues, the issues of rural communities.

5. Nope, OR-2 is safe R
I suppose he might be unseated by a primary challenger.

7. Viosin stood no chance
Neither did Buckley (who I happen to know and admire). OR-2 will be Walden's for a long time.
