Merkley Takes Lead!!

Despite Gordon Smith's barrage of negative ads, a new poll released yesterday has Jeff Merkley taking the lead!

Smith has spent millions of dollars running the most negative campaign in the country, but it's just not working. Jeff Merkley is leading Gordon Smith 43 percent to 41 percent, according to a new survey by Benenson Strategy Group. What's more, a whopping 61 percent of voters disapprove of Smith's job performance.

Oregon voters are ready for change - and they've had it with Gordon Smith's negative campaign and his rubber stamp record of voting with Bush 90 percent of the time. Now, it's our job to introduce them to the agent of change in this election - Jeff Merkley. Jeff is airing positive ads about issues that matter to people -- but he needs your help to stay on the air and drive them home.
