Some restaurant recommendations from a former Ashland resident.
Breakfasts: -Morning Glory, though it's usually packed, has little/no parking, and tends to be more expensive than it's worth, there are some really fantastic dishes.
Lunch: -Greenleaf (in the plaza) -Standing Stone Brewing Company (warning: not everything on the menu is good).
Dinner:
-Pasta Piatti -The Greenleaf
Drinks/Dessert:
-Black Sheep pub (in the plaza). Atmosphere and drinks are good, the food not so much. -Dragonfly. Very posh presentation, best for dessert. -Alex's (in the plaza). Go for drinks, not a meal.
Some great places not in Ashland, but nearby:
-Four Daughters Irish Pub (Medford). Upstairs has the better seating. Great for dinner and drinks. -Porters (Medford). Great for dinner. -India Palace (Medford). One of the best Indian places we've been to in the state. -Avalon Bar and Grill (Talent). Really good food, though the owner always struck me as the freeper type.
Places to maybe avoid:
-Grilla Bites (in the plaza): The type of place that thinks that 'organic' and 'gluten free' are acceptable reasons for the food to suck. -Taj Indian Cuisine: They get good reviews, but laconicspouse and I were never able to figure out why. If you want Indian, go to India Palace in Medford. -Great American Pizza Company: Their sourdough crust is good, but that's about it.
