Could The Oregonian have a more useless website?

Seriously. Broken links, missing archives, so many ads and web apps that the pages take twice as long to load as anything else, and a search function that can't handle quotes or an AND operation.

1. Unfortunately, their website is just about on par with the print version....

"Stories" that are little more than corporate or government PR pieces, and almost complete lack of fact-checking and due diligence, and writing so sloppy and juvenile that you are forced to wonder how the writers survived Freshman Composition.

Both the web and dead tree versions are complete embarrassments, especially when you consider that Portland is one the the most literate cities in the country.

Oh. And the trolls. Let's not forget the trolls. The comments on the O's website can make even freepers look sane and civilized by comparison.

I tried to look it up and it turns out that the O hadn't even covered it.

Which loads slow, and once inside reading a story, has to be exited before you can reload the menu to view a different story.
