PORTLAND, Ore. — Mayor Sam Adams has refused to set a deadline for breaking up an illegal camp of protesters in a downtown Portland park. The supporters of the Occupy Wall Street movement responded by sending him dozens of white roses.
The Oregonian quotes Adams as saying he's taking a "day-by-day" approach.
A spokeswoman says protesters sent Adams dozens of white roses Tuesday. One delivery had a note thinking him for restraint and protecting their free-speech rights.
