I hope it gets (got?) moved up. I remember hearing that Rendell was trying to get it moved but I never heard if anything came of it. Thanks if you can help!

1. yes
The primary, unless the law changes, will be when it always is during a Presidential election.

State Rep. Ron Buxton (D-Harrisburg) is sponsoring legislation to move the primary up, but it hasn't been passed yet.

2. Petition
i hope you don't mind me posting this in here, but i'm new to this forum and cannot start my own threads yet.

anyways, i just want to promote the Obama grass-roots movement that you may have heard about on the popular site Facebook.com

here's an MSNBC news article about the group:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17072007 /

also, there is http://www.studentsforbarackobama.com / which is a community of university and high school students for Obama.

it's amazing how Obama is defeating the apathy that was previously so evident in college kids.

my petitions are for Pennsylvania, and i'm trying to get a large amount of signatures from PA residents to persuade our governor and senators to endorse Obama, which could help his campaign immensely. (i'll start my own thread for this when the forum allows).

if you are not a PA resident i encourage anyone to begin a petition in their own state. Obama may have a lot of popular support now, but we need to put proof onto the desks of our state leaders to increase Obama's influence.

Peace.

Pennsylvania Governor Edward G. Rendell:

U.S. Senator Robert P. Casey Jr. (D) of Pennsylvania:

U.S. Senator Arlen Specter (R) of Pennsylvania:

*yes, Specter's a republican but it can't hurt to agitate him, too.. ;)

3. hmm
I think you're wasting your time, honestly.

The Governor isn't going to endorse anyone until the primary's over and the Democrats have a candidate. And considering his close friendship with the Clintons, I don't think Barack's going to get his endorsement even if he gave one. So that petition is just going to flood his staffer's inbox and get deleted by the spam blocker, probably.

Wanna boost his candidacy? Start raising money. Fast.

4. I heard on the news tonight that it could be as early as Feb. 2, if it passes.
Otherwise, it would still be in April, after the nominee is already selected by the other states.
