Call JOE SESTAK's Office Now - Tell him to cosponsor and support HR 811
He's the ONLY PA Democrat in Congress not yet onboard for voter-verified paper ballots and routine audits of elections.

Yes, Congressman JOE SESTAK (PA-7th) is the ONLY Pennsylvania Democrat in our delegation who is NOT a co-sponsor of HR 811, the much needed bill that will provide voter-verified paper ballots on all voting systems with routine audits of all elections. The bill now has 216 co-sponsors and is headed to a US House floor vote the week after Memorial Day.

Please call or fax Rep. Sestak's office NOW (especially the D.C. office) and ask him to co-sponsor (!!) and vote for this urgent legislation, HR 811. Does he want to be the only Pennsylvania Democrat in Congress who is not in favor of voters being able to make sure that their vote is being accurately counted as cast?

JOE SESTAK Washington Office:
Phone: (202) 225-2011
Fax: (202) 226-0280

JOE SESTAK Main District Office:
600 North Jackson Street, Suite 203
Media, PA 19063
Phone: (610) 892-8623
Fax: (215) 892-8628

With HR 811, PA will get $65-75 million to replace the paperless, unverifiable electronic voting machines now in use in 54 of our state's most populous counties because of the Help America Vote Act signed into law by George W. Bush. This new HR 811 money can be used to purchase optical scan voting systems which will give us a voter-marked and voter-verified paper ballot that can be audited and meaningfully recounted. And it will do this in time for the 2008 election.

Who supports this bill? Citizens, major computer scientists (David Dill, Avi Rubin, etc.), major national organizations (Common Cause, Move-On, PFAW, VoteTrustUSA, VerifiedVoting.org, etc.), many state organizations in PA, the DNC (Howard Dean et al), House Leadership (Nancy Pelosi et al), 216 other bi-partisan cosponsors, and more. Who opposes it? Mainly voting machine companies who sell the unverifiable machines and election officials who bought them!!!

Pennsylvania cannot afford to face another presidential election with our democracy at the mercy of paperless electronic voting machines. Call Sestak's office today!

PS -- It won't hurt to call ANY PA Rep. who is a co-sponsor (all other Dems, and R's Gerlach, English, and T. Murphy), thank them for supporting accurate and fair elections, and remind them to VOTE FOR THE BILL after Memorial Day. And it won't hurt to call the non-cosponsors (again, Dem. Sestak, along with R's Peterson, Shuster, Pitts, Platts, and Dent) and ask them to cosponsor and VOTE FOR HR 811!

1. I just saw an article in the Harrisburg Patriot
about his vote on the funding bill he voted for. I guess a lot of people were upset about the vote, because they felt betrayed by his vote.
