HAFER DELIVERS INSPIRING SPEECH... AMERICA IS RISING IN PA-18
Beth Hafer, 18-PA Congressional Candidate showed today why she is not only the best candidate to take out Tim Murphy from a political reality standpoint, but to bring the ethics, integrity, and the FORGOTTEN voices of middle and low-income Americans back to the forefront and purpose of the floor in Washington D.C.

This is not merely an "issue spotting" exam. Western Pennsylvanians know the issues. We need results. Beth has demanded action on standing up to address the issues of western Pennsylvanians that for so long have fallen on ignorance and neglect in Washington D.C., while our current rep. Tim Murphy chooses to cast votes to outsource jobs, a "blank check" for Iraq, and supports big oil... whatever the cost to American families.

Hafer knows an important thing...you cannot "buy" an election. Values and morals matter most to Hafer, like her mother and a grassroots effort is essential to the cause as reflected by the overwhelming advantage she has in grassroots campaigning over any challenger. Public participation was obvious the other night... when she was given a huge applause at the Washington County Banquet. Hafer has received the endorsement of the Communication Workers of America, Westmoreland Labor Council, and several groups which have been fundamental to the cause of restoring the voices of middle income families.

What's at stake we all know... from Iraq, the fluttering economy, to the outsourcing of district jobs and loss of our bright talented young people... to no child left behind's deficiencies. Hafer has proven to be an advocate and loud voice for working families, our troops and veterans. She is highly ethical and is the only logical candidate with the credibility to restore ethics and integrity back to the forefront of representing PA-18. Very John Edwards-esq.... America is rising and we are ready to take PA-18 back and give the voice to the people.

1. That's fantastic to hear.
I am in PA-12, just 2 miles from the line for PA-18 and am very interested in this race. Hafer sounds like a terrific candidate. :)

2. She must be the invisible candidate in Westmoreland Co.
I have only seen one sign for her (lots for Murphy, though!) and have seen nothing about her in the local rag.

4. Some Facts about Beth Hafer
I find it interesting that a former teacher couldn’t even get the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers endorsement... Wonder why!
She didn't get the Allegheny County Democratic Committee Endorsement
She didn't get the Post Gazette Endorsement
http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/08099/871306-192.stm
She didn't get the Washington Observer Reporter Endorsement.
She hasn’t been able to raise money
and no one has seen her on the campaign trail.
Not only that, but from what I hear she was an Republican Committee Woman in 2000... yah know, the year George Bush and Rick Santorum were elected to office.
Doesn’t sound like the kind of Democrat I want representing me.

5. Back in 2000 her mother was a Republican elected official planning the run for Governor
as a Republican. Her mother switched parties after it became apparent that she had not chance of beating Mike Fisher for the GOP nod.

6. Well, she lost and I am not unhappy about that
Because we need the best candidate to go up against Tim Murphy int he 18th, and Beth was not that person. Nothing personal against her. I've listened to it all, and I'm very relieved Steve O'Donnel took it.

Now, let's take our 18th CD back, Democrats. Steve won't have any trouble beating Tim.

Looking forward to November!

10. Yep, he is...
He's got his head on straight about a lot of things.

I very much look forward to him blowing Tim Murphy out of the House. I'll celebrate it, in fact. Think I'll start by making a robo-call to Murphy's house to tell him, just like he tells me when I answer how I missed a town hall meeting.

:-)
