Anyone else go to a grand opening?
My cousin & I went to the grand opening of the Westmoreland Co. field office in Greensburg on Thursday. We had a great time. I bought some Obama buttons and a tee-shirt, and gave donations for 2 yard signs (I've already had 2 stolen!).

She & I signed up to run the Dem. booth at the Westmoreland Co. fair next Sun. I don't have our assigned times yet, but will post them when I know. If anyone here is at the fair, stop by and say hello!

2. Centre County ...
BO set up his central PA field office up here in the primary, and the party has moved in for the general. There was a "grand opening" a couple of weeks ago. The office is HUGE, and in a nice building. 200 people showed up for the grand opening. The county offices had been in roughly 200 square feet with three rooms.

Who could ever have imagined a democratic candidate having the impact that Obama has had with his candidacy?

As a side note, the Rs had the McCain office opening yesterday. It was reported that 20 people showed up.

Centre County had about a 3000 registered R to D edge going into the primary. The Ds now have more registered voters. Now, this is due to PSU students, so it is likely a transient edge, and who knows how much down voting they will do.
