Young Dems Sponsor Bus Trip to the Inauguration

The Lancaster County Young Democrats (LCYD) are sponsoring a Bus Charter Trip to Witness the Historic Inauguration of Barack Obama, our 44th President, in Washington, DC on Tuesday January 20, 2009.

Tentative Itinerary:
Bus Charter Boarding Promptly at 6:00 AM
Bus Departing From Lancaster City: 6:30 AM
(Location of Departure to be Determined)
Arrival time to RFK Memorial Stadium, Washington D.C., approximately 9:00 AM

Ticket for Metro will be provided
Board RFK Stadium Metro for a short ride to Metro South & Independence Ave.
Walking distance to Capitol, approximately two (2) blocks

Following Inaugural ceremonies there will be a parade; route to be determined.

Bus Departing From RFK Memorial Stadium, Washington D.C.: 5:30 PM
Arrival in Lancaster City: Approximately 9:00 PM

Price is $40.00 per person

The above article strongly recommends using the Metro, and says hotel rooms are very hard to find. The best bet may be to get rail tickets from another city where hotels are available, if someone plans on staying over.

2. Bus trip from Berks County

The Berks County Democratic Committee is sponsoring two busses to go to Washington for the Inauguration of President Obama. The price will be $30, leaving in the morning and returning in the evening of Jan. 20 (exact times TBA).
