Good Analysis of Specter's Chances for Re-Election
The following is a good essay on Specter's chances for re-election in 2010. The GOP right wing is very angry about Specter's vote for the stimulus bill, which prevented their fillibuster. Specter barely beat Toomey in the 2004 primary, and many moderate Republicans have left the party in PA. Therefore, a reichwinger may win. Specter's greatest political strength has been his ability to attract moderate indepdendent and Democratic voters in the general election. However, if the GOP nominates another Santorum, he will get slaughtered in the November election.

Possible Dem candidates for Senate include Congressman (former 4 star admiral and Clinton advisor) Joe Sestak of Delaware County.

1. It's time for Specter to go bye-bye
Seriously, he's going to be 80 by the 2010 elections, and it's time that the Dems have a Democratic governor, 2 Democratic senators, and a strong Democratic edge in the House. I'm SICK of the pundits who keep saying that PA is a swing state...IT'S NOT!!!

2. There should be a concerted effort by PA Dems to re-reg as thugs and vote for the right-wing
whack-job that will certainly challenge Magic-Bullet Boy.

3. Be careful of what you wish for
In early 1993 is was inconceivable to most Pennsylvanians that someone like Rick Santorum would be able to defeat Harris Wofford. Even some Republicans thought it could not happen, and tried to recruit a more moderate Republican to run.
