Bryan Lentz Next Congressman 7th District, Sestak Next US Senator
All indications are that Congressman/ retired Admiral Joe Sestak will run against Specter for the Democratic nomination for US Senate next year.

The most likely candidate for the open US House seat for the district west of Philadelphia is State Rep. Bryan Lentz. He is an Iraq War veteran, Army Ranger and a former prosecutor.

1. wow
He looks too young to have accomplished all that.

I will never never never vote for any chickenhawks. Not that I'm calling Specter a chickenhawk, he did serve stateside in the Air Force during Korean war, but he's no Army Ranger who oversaw infrastructure rebuilding of four countries who really hate one another, voluntarily re enlisting to go to Iraq with his old unit. Crikey, they should make a movie about him.

2. PS - off topic but
Can other people see my profile? I can't. I don't remember hiding it. I have nothing to hide, and would like to possibly meet some of yinz Pittsburghers in person some time. I am on the Bloomfield/L'ville borderline, literally, I am 15224 but if you cross the street it's Lawrenceville. How do I un-hide my profile, or is it something to do with not having enough posts?

3. It is still there
Your profile is still readable, but it doesn't say that much.

5. What if Specter does not live out his term?
This is an uncomfortable subject, but one that should be asked. If the Dems do not mount a strong challenge to Specter and he wins re-election to the Senate, statistically, what are the odds that he would be healthy enough to serve until the end of his term in 2017?

There is a realistic chance that a Republican will be elected as Governor in 2010. If so, that Governor would be able to appoint a true-red Republican to the Senate seat, if Specter cannot finish his term.

That is why we need a younger true blue Dem in the seat, who can then hold the seat for years.

6. Supporting Senator Specter makes far more sense
to insure a victory by a Democratic Gov. in 2010, particularly with Corbett, someone with statewide name recognition running for the GOP. Your logic automatically forfeits the 2010 Gubernatorial race, which evidently is an afterthought to a Sestak candidacy. Then in your scenario with a Republican Gov, when re-districting comes up and we get screwed, then you guys will complain.

Im thinking with foresight by supporting Senator Specter, who looked good this past weekend. Senator will be a tremendous asset in the general election with moderate republicans and bring the guv's race into the Democratic column. Supporting Sestak brings no influence and hurts the name recognition of the Democratic ticket. This is a major sticking point that cannot be denied. I like team players, and a great chance to totally screw the GOP for a while. Your mentality is Sestak.... and then everything else is an afterthought on how it affects the rest of our party's races in the state. Specter coming over will even help tons of local candidates in more GOP districts in PA. That name recognition will help from the top to the bottom of our ticket!!!!!!!!

he is a republican.
