The Trib is evil (in case you didn't know)
I think many already know this, but noticed recently some DUers quoting the "Pittsburgh" Tribune Review. I believe that if they knew who owns it and what its agenda is all about, you feel the way I do. I won't allow that filthy rag in my house and won't touch it even if there's nothing else to read on the bus or the employee cafeteria.

Ihavenophobia's article on the home page on conservative vs. liberal media, which is also apparently a journal on the DailyKos blog, spurred me to point this out, which I have been meaning to for some time. If you googled Dicky Scaife and the Arkansas Project you would find a lot of stuff, including on Wiki, but I like this one the best:
http://sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Richard_Mellon_Scaife

This guy is a POS that spent over 60million to bring down Clinton and usher in the Bush-Cheney co. He's the type of lowlife who would steal his ex-wife's beloved dog from her just to be a prick in a bitter divorce case.

Spread the info and please don't support the trib, which btw isn't even made in Allegheny County.

1. I like the tribs high school sports coverage
its far superior to that of the Post gazette. I think theres a pittsburgh trib edition and
a trib edition greensburg. I dont care as much for the trib political view...
post gazette has a great political section.

2. I don't care if the Trib does a good job of covering Little League games.

Richard Mellon Scaife would seem to be quite happy if those same children, high schoolers, and their parents did not have the same access to health care that he has.

Please, if you are really interested in knowing the facts about what really goes on in PA and the USA, read the link that the original poster provided for you. Do your research. Scaife is an evil, evil man hiding behind his Oz curtain in Pittsburgh, pulling the strings of the country.

3. Thanks, blue
Like Samuel Jackson said in Pulp Fiction, sewer rat may taste like pumpkin pie, but I'll never know 'cause I won't eat the filthy motherfucker.

4. I know about its slant, but I read the local sections anyhow.
Try getting local news about Westmoreland County from any other source. There aren't any. It's a right-wing rag, but the only one we have out here. They even bought our little community weekly paper!

I get the real news from the internet and totally ignore their editorial page. :puke:

6. I know
It's like WalMart being the only store in my brother's town, Huntingdon.

Hey, I get my news from The Daily Show, DU headlines, TV news...then I go check stuff on factcheck.org., snopes, some others. See what the bloggers are saying. Thank Buddha for the internet, right?

7. Richard Mellon Scaife and the "Arkansas Project"
That pos has been at it for years. He never was able to bring down Clinton, though he came close.

8. If there's a story worth posting the Trib I do it
Edited on Tue Jul-07-09 03:58 PM by RamboLiberal
But I do alert that it is Scaife's paper. That's not putting any money in Scaife's evil pockets.

BTW, remember Hillary sure cozied up to Scaife during the primary. Not knocking Hillary - just pointing out that fact.

I've never appreciated DU'ers censoring what other DU'ers post.

9. I know it's like 3 weeks later
I wasn't going to reply, but now I feel maybe I ought to. Just want to say that I did not mean to censor anyone in any way. I thought people didn't know about the owner of the Trib. I apologize to anyone who felt I was trying to censor him or her.

Yeah, it weirded me out at first when the trib endorsed Hillary. Later I figured they knew no Republican would win, so they decided to try to divide and conquer.
