Lynn Cullen to stream on City Paper site August 18th
Radio talk host Lynn Cullen is re-launching her talk show -- on the Internet. "Lynn Cullen Live" will stream live weekdays at 10 a.m. on the Pittsburgh City Paper Web site (www.pghcitypaper.com), starting Aug. 18. The shows will also be archived on the site and available to download.

Ms. Cullen has been a fixture on local talk radio, with stints at talk formats on the former WTAE-AM and the former WPTT-AM. She joined WAMO-AM in March, but was off the air two months later when the pending sale of WAMO and its sister stations was announced.

For more details, see tomorrow's Post-Gazette.

Be good to have Lynn back - wish it was on the radio, but at least at work I can listen to Lynn once more.

2. City Paper Press Release
From the CP press release:

In partnership with Pittsburgh City Paper, local broadcasting legend Lynn Cullen will re-launch her talk show later this summer. And this time, she won’t be restricted by signal strength, broadcast schedules, or even the FCC.

“I’ll be interviewing newsmakers and troublemakers. I’ll be providing an antidote to the incessant whining of radio’s doomsayers and fearmongers,” Cullen says. “I’m glad to be free of the constraints of commercial radio — and this beats screaming into a megaphone on Forbes and Murray.”

City Paper’s online audience has grown by 25 percent in the past year, thanks in part to a recent redesign and additional features. “Our Web site has experience exceptional growth over the past year,” publisher Michael Frischling says. “We believe Lynn’s show will be a key element in continuing this dynamic trend.”

“We’re excited to be able to restore Lynn to her audience — and to her rightful place at the cutting edge of local media,” says Chris Potter, City Paper editor. “Now, thanks to the magic of the Internet, she’ll be able to aggravate right-wingers all over the world, at any time of day or night.”

I just wish it was 2 or 3 hours instead of one.

3. Thanks again, RL!
I missed this in the paper (busy week of my own). I'll check it out!

You know, every day we loose more mainstream media voices from the left of center (I can't say left anymore, honestly). I've already taken to podcasting to Mike Malloy. This is how everyone will probably advance with talk radio. It's too bad that the free airwaves only seem to belong to freepers.

So, I'll see if my listening and telling others will help her into more than the hour time slot. I'm hoping we can call in!

:hi:
