Arlen Specter's Responsibility for the Pennsylvania Budget Crisis
A thought-provoking article from Daniel at Philly Politics:

http://youngphillypolitics.com/arlen_specter039s_responsibility_pennsylvania_budget_crisis

Dan> "In fact, Arlen Specter is largely responsible for the entire gap between Ed Rendell’s original budget proposal and the infamous Senate Bill 850. How? With his ‘courage’ in the battle over President Obama's Recovery Act."

Dan> "Arlen Specter led group of Senators slashed 100 billion from the package, and shifted a lot of the funding towards tax cuts. Specter in fact lamented that we couldn’t have slashed all spending from the Recovery Act."

Dan> "According to Pa’s share of the national population, Arlen Specter’s Recovery Act cuts cost Pennsylvania about 1.6 billion dollars, or almost the entire gap between Rendell’s original budget proposal, and SB 850."

Dan> "So the next time Specter brags about his vote on the Recovery Act, just remember what he was bragging about a couple months before he switched parties, and how that potentially could endanger Pennsylvania civil society as we know it."

2. This is an important perspective
I hope anyone who is unsure whether to support Specter or Sestak will read this.

Of course, should Specter win the primary, he will be FAR better than Toomey... but Sestak is as much better than Specter as Specter is better than Toomey.
