Election Integrity Meetup in Greensburg 9/24 (THURSDAY)

This year Senator Al Franken was seated in his rightful place in the US Senate because every vote in the state of Minnesota is protected with an auditable and recountable paper ballot.

Sadly, over 7.5 million PA voters still do not have this protection. In 50 of our counties there is no way to meaningfully audit or recount any election. With the recent merger of ES&S and Diebold, ONE privately-held company now counts the votes in 55 of our 67 PA counties.

Westmoreland County faces all three of these dangers. We still have paperless touchscreen electronic voting machines, and ES&S is the vendor that sells and supplies them to us.

The above said, there is a lot that citizens can do to make this better. We need to get organized to observe and protect our elections. Please come to our informational meeting this Thursday and learn more about what YOU can do in Westmoreland County this year, and as we move toward the 2010 elections. The meeting (and this issue) is nonpartisan, and is being sponsored by VotePA, the statewide alliance of groups and individuals dedicated to voting rights and election integrity for all.
