There are too many candidates. I don't know who to support, but I'm leaning towards Onorato.
Onorato is pushing himself as a fiscal conservative. Some people criticize him for being anti-abortion, but he says he's like Bob Casey - he opposes abortion personally, but doesn't believe in changing the law. It seems that he's Rendell's favorite, although Rendell won't say it (and probably shouldn't because of Rendell's fall in the polls.) I like a candidate for Governor who has actually run a large government, such as Onorato has in Allegheny County.
Also, I like the fact that Onorato is a city guy, coming from Pittsburgh City Council. The cities and city school districts in PA. suffered under governors such as Ridge who only cared about the suburbs.
Knox looked like he was trying to buy the Phila. Mayor race. He spent a fortune of his own money getting name recognition early, and then fell in the polls once more people got to know Nutter.
I think Hoeffel ran a weak campaign against Specter in the last race. Also, if he leaves, Montgomery County will shift to GOP control. Hoeffel says he's running because the other candidates are too moderate. I don't think a guy who openly calls himself a "liberal" will do well against a "law and order" candidate like Corbett in Nov.
It sure looks like Corbett is going to be the GOP nominee. As a candidate, he reminds me of Tom Ridge.
I expect the leading Dem candidate will offer the Lt. Governorship to one of his rivals to get him out of the race. I would expect Onorato would want an eastern PA person as Lt. Gov.
