Luzerne Judges' Kids for Cash Scam Featured in New Michael Moore Movie

Earlier this year, two judges in Luzerne Co. pleaded guilty to accepting millions in payments from the operators of 2 for profit children's prisons in PA. Those judges had much higher rates of ordering detention for minor offenses than other judges. There also appears to be have some sort of conspiracy to have kept the county from building its own children's detention center. That scandal is now featured in the new Michael Moore film as an example of privatization of government services run amok.

it's an excellent example and we can expect to see more like that if there is more privatization.
