Kos: Altmire, Carney and Holden are Uncertain Votes for Health Insurance Reform

Today, Kos of www.dailykos.com reported that 3 of the US House members who are holding out in support of comprehensive health insurance reform are from PA. They are:

Jason Altmire (PA-04), Chris Carney (PA-10), Tim Holden (PA-17).

If you care about this issue, write them, fax them, email them, call them ASAP. The key vote will apparently be tomorrow or Monday.

My Rep, Tim Holden voted no and I'm going to ask his office why. And I'll tell them if he has the nerve to vote no on the final version then he can kiss my vote goodbye.

I sent him and email, not asking why but to let him know my wife and I will no longer support him in any way,
and will even vote against him next election. I don't care what lame excuse he uses, he still lost my vote. he
has one of the "Blue Dog" symbols on his web site - let's see how well he does next election as many democrats
such as myself decide not to support him. I know they complain and say you need the majority, but I really have
reached the point where I don't care if democrats have the majority if they are not going to do the things
they promised to do. Many of us ask what good does it do helping these individuals get elected when they turn
their backs on us afterwards.

4. Leadership Gives Swing District Dems a Break on Tough Votes

The Dems needed 218 votes in the House. I imagine there were many more Dems lined up who were willing to vote yes if they were needed. However, they were given a pass once the majority number was hit, because the leadership didn't want them to have too tough a re-election in their swing districts.

5. I can understand that to a point.

But at a certain point it gets beyond political expediency and turns into a "what the hell do they really stand for" situation. If the blue dogs want to run down the center, then stop with the "we are in charge" bullshit. Nothing gets done from the center in this country, and those of us on the left understand this. If they want to be a blue dog, so be it. Don't come calling like you should be in charge of an agenda, because you're not! Not you, JPZenger, but the blue dogs.

6. I noticed that both Holden and Altmire are listed in ActBlue in PA. They are not acting very Blue.

It seems to me that a Blue Dog must vote with the republicans on everything in order to please the right wing to maintain their seat. Except for their help in the "numbers" toward a majority and committees what the hell good are they to the Democratic party?
