Ryan Bucchianeri Endorsed by Pittsburgh Post Gazette for PA-12

"Mr. Bucchianeri, 35, is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, spent five years on active duty overseas and earned a master's degree from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. Later, he worked on business development for Lockheed Martin.

He, too, has a strong focus on job creation and business development. He is frank in calling the Obama health care law an improvement though not perfect, while Mr. Critz was vague in his appraisal, saying "it is what it is" and that many people "were upset with the process." On Iraq, Mr. Bucchianeri says the United States should stick to its withdrawal timetable and that Iraqis need to take charge of their country; Mr. Critz said he would leave Iraq policy to military and diplomatic officials. Mr. Bucchianeri is pro-choice on abortion and, as a gun owner, supports responsible gun ownership while condemning the "glamorization of guns" in popular culture.

Mr. Bucchianeri sees his lack of a government career as a plus and believes he can bring new energy and fresh perspective to the office. While both candidates were well-informed, Mr. Bucchianeri was direct and straightforward in his answers, while Mr. Critz, on controversial topics, was hedged and cautious. Ryan Bucchianeri may be the underdog in this matchup, but he has earned the Post-Gazette endorsement."
