Gene Stilp, the father of the pay increase protest, targets the Orie sisters !
Pictures hopefully to follow soon. Gene Stilp inspired the mass protest which spiked the decades old legislators' practise of voting themselves midnight pay raises - and sent a number of legislators to defeat on the issue. Here's hoping he'll prove as lethal to Senator Orie and Justice Orie-Melvin.
********************************************************************************

"HARRISBURG -- A Harrisburg political gadfly is putting up a 15-foot-tall statue of an "angel lady" here Tuesday because of recent news stories that state Supreme Court Justice Joan Orie Melvin and two of her sisters sought guidance from a Philadelphia woman who claims to hear whispered advice from angels.

The story, first reported by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette last week, said "the Orie sisters consulted with an angel lady when they wanted to know the future of the charges against them,'' said citizen/protestor Gene Stilp. The statue will be erected in front of the state's new Judicial Center, just down the street from the Capitol, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

"The message the 15-foot angel is telling Judge Orie Melvin is to resign immediately," said Mr. Stilp, who is known for colorful protests against state officials. He got considerable publicity in 2005-06 when he toted a large inflated pink pig around the state to protest the later-rescinded pay raise that state legislators tried to give themselves, as well as the pay raise that justices upheld for themselves and other judges.
..............................
"While the angel lady is free to predict the future," Mr. Stilp said, "the three Orie sisters are in their own cauldron and have some real criminal problems boiling over. A non-psychic judge just held Sen. Jane and Janine over for trial, while Justice Joan Orie Melvin is the subject of a grand jury investigation."

1. Love to have someone write a musical spoof "Angel Lady", to tune of Santa Baby
(Channel Eartha Kitt for this)

Angel Lady,

I love to have you whisper
In my ear,

And tell me everything I
Want to hear,

So hurry down to
Wexford tonight . . .

Do-wop . .
Do-wop, do-wop, do-wop!

(2nd verse, worse than the first!)

Angel Lady,
Think of all the votes that I have missed,
And awful pictures where I look so pissed!
I need advice on how to stop my frown,
And wearing makeup like I am a clown,
So hurry down to Wexford tonight!

Do-wop . . . .
Do-wop, do-wop, do-wop!

Lady, ask your Angel how to block Zappala,
And convince Pittsburghers that he worships Allah!

You helped me get rid of Melissa Hart
Now its time again for you to do your part!

Hey, it's a work in progress.

(If you guys think THIS song is corny, you should hear my "Jesus Loves the Little Kittens" hymn.)

6. GREAT idea -- keep working on it!

Seriously I used to sing the real "Santa Baby" in my cabaret act in New York... right now the rhymes you have don't quite 100% match the music of the song but with a little tweaking they will.

PLEASE keep working on this -- it's great. :-)

3. Orie's brother works for Tom Corbett
So Tom Corbett apparently looked the other way when evidence was presented that the Orie sisters were doing the same thing as the Democrats he was prosecuting. Guess who works for Tom Corbett in the AG office? Orie's brother. One big happy family.

4. Tis indeed an incestuous situation.
John Morgan of The Pennsylvania Progressive commented on the Orie-Corbett Connection

Fri Apr 09, 2010 at 16:42:22 PM EDT

I went through campaign finance reports today sifting for political contributions between Joan Orie Melvin and Attorney General Tom Corbett trying to find an explanation as to why the AG refused to investigate Sen. Jane Orie's use of taxpayer funded staff, offices and resources in her sister's campaign for the State Supreme Court. Corbett has maintained an extremely high profile investigation of BonusGate for three years in which he is prosecuting legislators and their staffs for exactly what the Ories did. Why then did he choose not to go after the Ories? I didn't find any contributions to Corbett from Justice Orie Melvin or to her from him. That's interesting since most major Republicans contribute to each other through their campaign committees. Keystone Progress did find a connection however: Jerry Orie, another of the siblings, works in the Attorney General's office and Sen. Orie was an Assistant Attorney General before running for the State Senate.

Jerry Orie works in Corbett's office doing insurance fraud investigations while yet another brother Jack Orie, represented Jane and Janine Orie at their arraignment this week. Did the fact that Jerry Orie works for Tom Corbett influence his decision to knock the investigation to the County level where the DA wouldn't have jurisdiction over Justice Joan Orie Melvin? What possible influence did Jerry Orie have in the decision by the AG's office not to investigate his sister?

The entire affair appears incestuous in the interrelationships among the Ories and Corbett. If Tom Corbett wants to be Governor he has some major explanations to make to the people.

Doesn't that make it worse??
If Sen. Orie worked in the AG's office prior to becoming a Senator and the brother works in the AG's office now, doesn't that make it HARDER to believe they they didn't know what they were doing was wrong?

Even more so if the AG was prosecuting just this type of violation for 3 years.

Playing favorites as AG does not inspire me to think someone will be a good Governor. I don't want my Governor playing favorites...I want him/her representing ALL the citizens of the Commonwealth.

Corbett was supposedly investigating
the Senate Republican caucus while Sen. Orie was blatantly breaking the law. Then his office turned away a complaint about her breaking the law. It's all rather a bit too cozy isn't it? How can Corbett believe voters won't hold him accountable for this political incest? By the way, have the Orie sisters ever seen a cosmetics counter they didn't buy out? They are the Tammy Faye Bakkers of PA.

8. Here's one picture.

The Orie sisters seem to have the same "family values" as the BFEE.
