Pictures hopefully to follow soon. Gene Stilp inspired the mass protest which spiked the decades old legislators' practise of voting themselves midnight pay raises - and sent a number of legislators to defeat on the issue. Here's hoping he'll prove as lethal to Senator Orie and Justice Orie-Melvin.

"HARRISBURG -- A Harrisburg political gadfly is putting up a 15-foot-tall statue of an "angel lady" here Tuesday because of recent news stories that state Supreme Court Justice Joan Orie Melvin and two of her sisters sought guidance from a Philadelphia woman who claims to hear whispered advice from angels.
The story, first reported by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette last week, said "the Orie sisters consulted with an angel lady when they wanted to know the future of the charges against them,'' said citizen/protestor Gene Stilp. The statue will be erected in front of the state's new Judicial Center, just down the street from the Capitol, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
"The message the 15-foot angel is telling Judge Orie Melvin is to resign immediately," said Mr. Stilp, who is known for colorful protests against state officials. He got considerable publicity in 2005-06 when he toted a large inflated pink pig around the state to protest the later-rescinded pay raise that state legislators tried to give themselves, as well as the pay raise that justices upheld for themselves and other judges.

"While the angel lady is free to predict the future," Mr. Stilp said, "the three Orie sisters are in their own cauldron and have some real criminal problems boiling over. A non-psychic judge just held Sen. Jane and Janine over for trial, while Justice Joan Orie Melvin is the subject of a grand jury investigation."
