I wanted to say how sorry I am for all of you who worked so hard for Joe Sestak.

He was a great candidate and he did an excellent job. It was a very close race and I know everyone worked so hard. This is a tough loss.

I met him at 6:30 p.m. the day before the primary. I was exhausted from phone banking all day, but he was traveling from campaign office to campaign office to thank the volunteers.

In this case, the best man did not win, but he came really, really close.

3. Heartbreaking

Yes, that was a heartbreaking election because it was so close and because everyone worked so hard, and because the winner was such an ideologue.

Hopefully, Joe will start running to win back his House seat. The GOP will get arrogant, screw up, and then the pendulum will swing back.

4. fantasy

Voter turnout seemed slow in our area, but we did vote the straight democratic ticket even though I really did not like the one democrat on it. I did like Joe and hoped he would make it.

One fantasy I have is the democrats use reconciliation to push through a "Medicare for all" bill that allows younger, healthy people to buy into Medicare and make it effective immediately, then after the new congress arrives the new Tea Party/GOP radicals can try to take it away from the American people. Of course I know the democrats would never do something like that, even if they did believe it would help the American people. Democrats would rather talk, and compromise and hide from a good fight, the problem is the American people want action these days.

6. Admiral Sestak ran a terrific campaign...

...From day one, when most said that he couldn't beat Specter.
Unfortunately, the NRA endorsed Toomey, which carries a frightening amount of weight here in PA.
Also, speaking just from the Lehigh Valley, the media is all quite pro-republican.
So damn depressing.

7. Yeah, it sucks

I went to bed and both Onorato and Sestak were ahead. I didn't even check to see if Sestak won in Chester Co., seemed the arrogant Pubes were manning the polls in my suburban district. Woke up Weds., Corbett and Toomey had both won.

I hauled my ass out to vote, but too many people didn't. Damn shame. Oh well, PA is going to get what the "people" wanted (not this person though) - tough recovery, if any at all. Neither one of them had an actual plan (Corbett or Toomey).

8. It's a terrible loss.

What is normally a strong Democratic voting bloc in this area swung to the opposite. People are angry and they took it out on the Dems. Why they would vote against their own interests is beyond me.

9. I donted several times to his campaign - this is THE loss that really hurts - He would have

been a great Senator, and now we are stuck with Nazi Toomey instead.

I hope he has some political future.

10. I currently live in Ga. but I too donated to Joe. I grew up in Pgh and only moved whenI was 47 yo,

so a large part of my heart is still in Pa. I detest Toomey, he's such a slime, and I've heard he's worse than Santorum (if that's even possible!). I wonder if Joe would consider running again to challenge Toomey who in six long years should have destroyed himself in the eyes of the voters?
