Corbett put Christine Toretti of Indiana, PA, recent CEO of her father's drilling
company (S.W Jack) in charge of the new governor's transistion team. Look out, DEP. The next DEP adminstrator may be a driller. If so, the DEP is toast with a republican house and senate.

1. Dark, dark days for the natural world in Pennsylvania
 This is sickening already and he's not in office yet.

2. Additionally, Corbett is against an extraction tax on Marcellus Shale
So when our state is left polluted after the drillers have grabbed all the profits, I guess the taxpayer will clean up the mess. Other states are already taxing Marcellus Shale wells and the proposed PA tax would be lower than every other state's with the exception of West Virginia.

Corbett will spend his time in office doing the bidding of his corporate masters.

Facts on the extraction tax that Corbett opposes:

3. It's amazing the amount of Energy money spent on Corbett's race.
Check out these numbers:

"Energy-related donations (mostly gas) to the Governor's Race during the first 2 weeks of September
Dan Onorato ---- $4,899.09 (3%)
Tom Corbett - $155,534.65 (97%)

Out-of-State energy-related donations (mostly gas) to the Governor's race during the first 2 weeks of September
Dan Onorato -- $1,500.00 (4%)
Tom Corbett - $39,000.00 (96%)"

The whole blog is QUITE interesting. I wonder if the Pennsylvanians who voted for Corbett realize that Texans are now running our state!

4. And those "new jobs" will go to workers brought up from Texas.
Oil companies are the last companies in the world willing to reduce profits by paying for local workers' learning curves. No question but that they will bring experienced workers in to do the work, & these guys will send their paychecks home. I'm disappointed in how friendly to Corbett the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is. I want to see a hard-hitting series on how much money other states are making from taxing these frackers. I want to see a series on the ecological disasters and health hazards from fracking. I want them to follow up and find out how many Pennsylvanians get jobs from Marcellus Shale drilling.
