The Corbett Transition is keeping it in the family with its choice for the coveted spot of general counsel. This afternoon, the Republican's team announced that it had tapped Philly attorney Steve Aichele to the pretigious post. If that name sounds familiar, there's a reason for that: He's married to Carol Aichele, the Chester County commissioner the still-emerging administration has picked to run the Department of State.

We're not suggesting that there's necessarily anything nefarious going on here. Probably it's just a complete oversight that the administration is getting a two-fer deal by nominating the Aicheles to two, high-paying state jobs. Heck, the transition's press release touting the medical experience of its pick for Health Secretary didn't even mention what sort of medicine he practiced or where he went to school. We had to ask for that information.

Anywhoo ... Steve Aichele is a big-shot at the Philly mega-firm Saul Ewing, which has given $42,000 to Corbett's campaigns over the last two years, the PAIndependent reported earlier this week. Carol Aichele's campaign committee donated $18k to Corbett's coffers, the Indy also reported.
