Gas-drilling protesters chant during Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett's speech
As Tom Corbett was sworn in as Pennsylvania's governor, a crowd of about 150 yelled their opposition to Corbett's support of natural gas drilling.

They stood behind the inaugural stage, separated from the festivities by the length of a football field and 10 mounted state troopers. They could be heard as Corbett gave his speech.

"Tom Corbett, no way, no fracking in PA!" They chanted, then, "What do we want clean water! When do we want it? Now!"

1. Anyone Make it to Corbett's $5,000 a plate dinner last night at Hotel Hershey?
There has been plenty of publicity about the public events of the Corbett Inauguration. However, there is one event that was only publicized among the powers that be.

That was last night in the Fountain Room of Hotel Hershey. It was a $5,000 and $10,000 a plate invitation-only "Benefactor's Dinner." The room was filled with gas well drillers, lobbyists and developers.

2. The Marcellus Shale Industry is now running the state of Pennsylvania.
Tom Corbett will do nothing to stop it.

3. Corbett is going to be a huge mistake for PA. We will take three steps backwards.
But, now if things don't go right, we can all just blame Republicans, because they run everything now.

4. Why do I get the uneasy feeling that Tom (Gas Man) Corbett will find a spot for Tom Ridge
in his administration?

If the oil and gas companies weren't exempt from "Superfund" regulations, this state would be well on its' way to becoming one giant superfund site. This is going to get ugly(ier) with the repubs in power. Well, actually the energy companies are now in charge, but since they've bought the R's, people probably won't notice.

5. Ridge
Tom Ridge is making too much cash from the gas industry to take a government job.

6. You're probably correct.
Still, I imagine that Corbett will find some way to increase Ridge's income.

It probably won't be an ethical way, but I just have a feeling that they will work together to try to pull some type of scheme.
