Tom Corbett -- who has spent a lot of time his first couple months in office blaming the state's troubles on Ed Rendell -- is learning how quickly the honeymoon is over for Pennsylvania's governor's.
The state Democratic Party is pointing to two instances over the weekend where Corbett, of Shaler, was booed by fellow Pittsburghers -- during his march in the St. Patrick's Day parade (WPXI screen capture above) and while doing the coin-flip Friday night at the inaugural Pittsburgh Power arena football game.
Here's how the coin flip went, via Steelers Lounge
Long-time Civic Arena/Mellon Arena/Consol Energy Center staple Jeff Jimerson performed the National Anthem and received his usual loud ovation, while Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett did the pre-game coin toss. His reception was not quite as welcoming, receiving a seemingly never-ending chorus of boos fresh off his massive state-wide budget cuts. I’m not sure who thought inviting him was a good idea, but, well … it wasn’t. The guy in front of us joked that he’d probably keep the coin.
