The President of Kutztown University says his university would face a 33% tuition increase as a esult of Corbett's budget, even after laying off faculty and eliminating additional majors. They already eliminated some majors this year.

He said the average tuition hike for other universities in the state system could be 32%.

Corbett is proposing the smallest funding for the state-owned universities since the system was created in 1983. That funding statistic is before inflation, so it means that Corbett is providing half the funding that has been provided to the system even during the worst years.
