247 Jobs At Allentown School District to be Corbetted (Eliminated)

A press conference was held today to announce that the Allentown School District plans to eliminate 247 jobs in response to a 15% cut in funding from the State in the Corbett budget.

The secretive Superintendent didn't bother to appear at the press conference.

No administrators would lose their jobs.

2. The School Board approved the cuts tonight

Many math and science teachers are being eliminated, among many other disciplines. Elementary students will get a total of 9 weeks of art, music and gym class per year.
