Receieved by subscription email. My firsthand experience is the Chinese do not respect patents. If you sell a product, it will soon be copied and pirated. I urge any RI members near Bryant to alert any in attendance.

FROM SHAWN's DESKTOP (03/05) My fellow China-marketeers:
What's New MeetChinaBiz has recently joined hands with Bryant University in to further its ongoing mission to inform, educate, and help US busi- nesses--especially those small-and-midsize ones (SMEs)--turn the widely known China Challenge into a China Opportunity. Now part of its newly established US-China Institute, our head office will be housed inside the Chafee Center for Int'l Business. You shall hear more exciting development from us soon! Our 4th annual US-China match-making conference entitled "China Buys" will take place on Wed., 3/17 as planned. The number of dele-gates from China may be smaller than originally expected due to US visa difficulties. If the number is indeed small, then what we will do is to stage a "Part II" to this event in April or May with a 50% (or higher) discount offered to those who have already paid for this conference.
On the evening of 3/16 there'll be a reception for the Chinese delegation in the boardroom of Burns&Levinson in downtown Boston. Due to the limited capacity there, we will sign up attendees on a first-come-first-served basis so make sure you RSVP early.
For further details, such as the confirmed Chinese attendees, or to sign up online, please visit the conference page on our website. (If you can't click the links shown here, please go to our main site www.MeetChinaBiz.org, click the 'Conference' tab on top and then 'MCBC 2005' in the left bar.)
The cost ranges from $45 to $160 depending on which program or programs you wish to attend.
Again, our Associated Members (AM) will enjoy a 50% discount while the Enterprise Members (EM) will be able to attend all events for free (which would make it well worth joining!). Please let us know if you are interested in becoming an AM or EM.
It is perhaps worth pointing out that this conference has been featured in the cover story in the latest issue of ThinkGlobal, an award-winning publication covering regional int'l trade news and info
