Looking for a caterer in Newport
My family reunion is coming up in Newport at the end of August and everyone is making something to bring. Since I am coming in from out of town, I want to have something catered. Can anyone advise me? I sure would appreciate it. Thanks Jeanette

3. I sure will
I always do enjoy my visits back to Newport. I was back in Newport in January right after the big blizzard so we didn't get to do a whole lot but visit. I also was born in Newport, saw one of your old posts.

2. Wilhemina's Catering
is excellent.

http://www.SakonnetEvents.com or 401-635-2003.

Wilma's an old friend of mine, a real character, and an excellent chef. People rave over her events and I've never heard of a single complaint. She's not in Newport but very nearby.

5. If she's overbooked
then PM me. As I've other friends involved in the local entertainment biz who know a slew of caterers.

The one who gets a lot of gigs is White Glove catering but they're a much bigger operation. n/l but I'm sure they have a site.

7. I checked out her website
What I am looking for is to be able to send a tray or platter of munchies etc. If I ask my family for a connection they will tell me not to bother that they have everything covered. Everyone lives right there in Newport or surrounding area and they are all bringing a dish or dessert. When ever I go up, they don't let me do anything. Wouldn't even let me buy beer for goodness sake. So that is why I am asking for help, so I can do it without them knowing and have it sent to the hall where we are all getting together.

8. I'm sure she can help you out with that.
If there is any problem regarding delivery, then PM me. I go to Newport frequently and it's not that far away. Would be happy to help out.

I definitely think she'll be more reasonable than most of the places on the island. Otherwise check out The Market on Memorial Boulevard as I know they do those sorts of things but are probably slightly more pricey.

9. I appreciate your help
And your generousity. I will check out both. I think that I saw the website for The Market. It seems like a very interesting store. I miss places like that. I live in North Florida, not a lot of diversity here. I will keep you posted on my plans. Thank you for all the tips. Really appreciate it. Jeanette.
