Chafee Voted to Support Bush-Cheney Patriot Act

On the same day that it is revealed that President Bush has secretly permitted the National Security Agency to eavesdrop on U.S. citizens without the use of a warrant, Lincoln Chafee stood with President Bush and Dick Cheney to support the reauthorization of the flawed Patriot Act.

Supreme Court nominee John Roberts, who said that courts should have a 'limited role' in intruding in the other branches of government (like upholding a woman's right to choose), as well as the rights of states (like striking down slavery and segregation laws, I'm sure) and then went ahead and voted to overturn Oregon's "Death w/Dignity Act". Luckily 6 other SCOTUS judges didn't fall for the same hypocritical bullshit, and Roberts was in the minority. That doesn't free Chafee from his accountability for voting for a complete hypocrite, however.

3. The one that ticks me off

Is the vote for that IMO *criminal* bankruptcy bill. And the one that disallows class action suits against financial institutions on the state level.

The bankruptcy bill just pisses me off. Talk about setting hundreds of years of common law on its head. What's next? Poor houses?
