Randy Hein obit and funeral info
For those who didn't know him Randy was a great member of the RI community. He did all kinds of volunteer work and hosted countless fundraisers over the years at his club the Living Room.

I worked as a DJ occasionally at his club and frequented it weekly for over two decades.

He will be dearly missed and I welcome those who knew him to at least post a comment in his guestbook linked to in his obit.

For those who are attending the service, I'll see you there.

DJ Griz

1. He'll be missed.
I knew Brian a little better than Randy, but they are both good people. I was confused when I first heard he was a little league coach, until I figured out that it was just like the music scene only younger kids. Randy just wanted to nurture people, and see them grow.

I'm a Living Room alum, I don't remember seeing you there. Did you ever see The Detectives?

and Randy had done the little league bit for ages. He absolutely loved it.

Yeah I knew the Detectives. I can't think of his name right now, but the one with red curly hair I worked with at another job back then. Eric maybe??

My home base was Rocket/Baby Head (11 years). I DJed the Stupid Dance Party every thurs. and sun. But I also worked at the Last Call regularly as a bouncer, and did DJ gigs at Lupo's and the Living Room (usually benefits or occasional last minute fill-in.)

Some of the other bands I knew very well (and still am in contact with) are Rash of Stabbings, Neutral Nation, Mark Cutler (originally from The Schemers), The Probers, The Young Adults, and Boneyard to name a few off the top of my head. After working the clubs for a decade and a half I got to know damn near everybody at least a little bit.

3. I was the guy with the really long hair...
who was first on the dance floor with the guitar player's girlfriend at almost every Detectives gig. Larry the bass player had curly hair, but it wasn't red. There was Neil, Mike, Justin, and whoever the drummer was (they kept exploding). Later Larry was with a band called The Co-dependants. I saw every other band you mentioned, and the very first gig of The Dames. Baby Head was after I got out of the scene, except for the monthly Neo-90s gig upstairs. Oh, and Tom Buckland was doing yoga with my ex-wife.

Things have piled up today, and I may not make the calling hours. I fugure there will be a ton of people, between the LR and the LL. I will write a check for the family fund.

4. Neil was the one I worked with
Used to see him occassionally when he was cooking at the restaurant underneath where Snookers is now (another brain fart on remembering a name).

As to Dames, Gail (who played with L7 and Belly later) is in a band called Benny Sizzler now, and I talk to her online almost daily.

Geoff Adams from Neo-90s went to high school with me.

And at the last Neutral gig at the Living Room before T-Buck left for Florida, I was the one crawling around taking all the pics of them.

If you make the service Sat ask anyone who griz is and they'll steer you my way. If not check the Decatur in Prov some weekend. First drink is on me for a fellow DUer.

5. RIP
Though I didn't go frequently to the LL I did enjoy it thoroughly when I did.

Sorry I mostly missed you guys. Hold on I'm gonna go try to get the inevitable Philippe and Jorge's tribute. Should be cool.

If I can't get it maybe someone else can. I sadly still can't access some sites. Ughhhhh.
