WHJJ getting rid of Arlene Violet for Sean Hannity
Rhode Island "talk" radio continues to slip into the muck as they are dumping Arlene after 16 years in favor of this disgusting pig. They are also dumping Howie Bart, but keeping the awful Helen Glover.

I'm guessing it's only a matter of time before that jerk John DePetro is welcomed back into the fold to complete the change over to full right wing radio. Sad, only a year ago this was an AAR station.

1. Clear Channel is trimming down hard
They're ditching liberal talk in a lot of markets, now they're going after the conservotalk stations as well.

They gutted WGST in Atlanta, got rid of all the local hosts and brought in syndicated stuff. And now they're doing it in Providence.

As for HJJ picking up AAR a couple years back, I was probably one of the few that saw this as a mistake. At least for that station. It's tough to shake up a schedule as much as they did there for an established talk station. The listeners wanted the local shows on HJJ. If AAR were on a different station without the history of HJJ, then I think it would have succeeded there. But I smelled failure as soon as HJJ picked up the AAR shows.

4. RADIO on its way out like NEWSPAPERS. . .
and good riddance WHJJ and WPRO.

The streaming internet and satellite radio will put these quack stations out of business sooner than later. . .younger generation, hell even my boomer's crowd, would much rather have control of what we READ and HEAR by staying online most of the day.

Shucks. . .I don't even watch TV anymore since the internet has it all at my fingertips via selective clips.

Go to hell, ClearChannel et al. . .you're nothing. . .a spec in time. . .a boil on our asses. . .get lost!

BTW, RI already listens to MALLOY ONLINE. . .I sure do ever since 2004. . .best damn talk on the airwaves. . . agreed alyce!
