Man charged with kidnapping Middletown girl

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (WPRI) - Middletown police confirmed Friday they are investigating the reported abduction and sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl. Now, a man is in custody charged with the crime.

The victim told police she was abducted in the area of West Main Rd. and Forest Ave. sometime overnight Thursday, assaulted and eventually left in New Bedford.

Just look at Elizabeth Smart, Jaa Cee Duggard and others. Just so I don't appear sexist,even though the article was about a 14 yr old girl, what about Shawn Horbeck, Ben Ownby? This is just to name a few.

just hearing about a lot of sexual assaults lately. There was even one in our city tow nights ago, possibly committed by as serial rapist.

I have survived two sexual assaults, on from an acquaintance (was going to be my boss) and the other a stranger, in the guise of a good Samaritan. I say one crime against a child should be the absolute limit.
Sexual predators against children should NEVER be turned loose again.
Why people allow this I just can't understand.
I have seen at least eight notices of child molesters and level 3 offenders (whatever that means) being moved into my neighborhood in the last three years alone.
This is a high volume of children neighborhood.
Why are these pedophiles not being moved into the gated communities or the Mayors neighborhood?
Its just wrong to let them live out in society ANYWHERE!

I read your other post. Of course it is never the victim's fault.

But what happened to teaching children precautions? Never accept a ride from a stranger, unless they're in a marked police car, etc. Never open your door to a stranger.
